Rangnick speaks after the loss to Manchester City
In the opinion of Gary Neville, the level of Mohamed Salah is undeniable. However, the Egyptian star is not Neville’s first choice for Manchester United. Talking to Sky Sports, the Man Utd legend shared (quoted by Metro):
“At the start of the season, Salah was at the level of the best in the world, and maybe he is now.”
“But if you told me I could sign a player for Manchester United tomorrow, maybe I would still choose Mbappe or Haaland over Salah.”
“It has nothing to do with Liverpool, I think Salah is absolutely fantastic. But, I just think Mbappe has the potential to become a player of class beyond this world.
“I like Haaland’s personality. I like the fact that he doesn’t care what people think.”
“Haaland is a bit like Eric Cantona, he’s the modern version. People call it arrogance, I understand, but he has the ability to hold back.”
“You cannot teach that. Football needs people like Haaland, it needs personality. We want special players. We want people who are professional, well-behaved, but we also want them to have character and distinctive character who are willing to go against the norm. That’s what Haaland does.”
