Konate in the shirt of RB Leipzig

Konate moved to Liverpool from RB Leipzig in the summer and quickly settled into life at Anfield. He has made 17 appearances so far in all competitions. This 22-year-old defender is only the third option in The Kop’s defense, after Virgil van Dijk and Joel Matip. And he said that coach Klopp has pledged to give him more playing time if he comes to England.

 Konate respects coach Klopp.

“Yes, I spoke to him two or three times,” Konate told Sky Sports. ” If Jurgen Klopp calls you, you’ll think a lot about this! He doesn’t call you for nothing.

We talk a lot, about me, my private life, about him, the club, the mentality of the players, everything. It’s not just me and the manager, you know, everything that made me make this decision – the mentality of the club, the players I’m going to work with every day, about the city, about everything and I’ve make decision.”

“I asked him if I could play a lot,” added Konate . “And he said ‘yes, you’ll be playing’. He didn’t say that I would be playing as often as the first choice. But for me it was always – when I was at Sochaux, when I arrived. Germany, the coach never told me that.”
