On May 23, the day after the men’s football final of the 31st SEA Games, Vietnamese female fans had the opportunity to meet the Thai U23 players, the girl burst into tears after talking and hugging with striker Patrick Gustafsson . The 21-year-old striker was also surprised at how much Vietnamese fans loved him.
Not only that, but the female fan also posted a video chatting with Jonathan Kemdi and teaching the midfielder to say “I love you” in Vietnamese. Khemdee doesn’t have much difficulty, but is shy when translating sentences into English.

Jonathan Khemdee is an outstanding player of Thailand U23 in the 31st Southeast Asian Games. The midwife was born in Thailand in 2002, but was brought to Denmark by his parents when he was a child. He matured quickly and is now a staff member of the Danish league club Odense.
At the 31st Southeast Asian Games, Khemdee was in the spotlight in his first match against Malaysia U23s. He became the first player to receive a red card in a men’s football match, which indirectly led to a 1-2 away defeat by Thailand U23 to Malaysia U23.
In the final against U23 Vietnam, Khemdee was not close to Nham Manh Dung’s goal for U23 Thailand. After the game, the midfielder presented the saola mascot, silver medals, flowers, jerseys and other gifts to the Thai fans at My Dinh Stadium, which left a deep impression.
In addition to the above stories, the 31st SEA Games also recorded many touching moments between Vietnamese volunteers and the athletes and national teams of participating countries.

On May 17th, the Malaysian U23 team moved from Nanding to Phu Shou. Female volunteer Nguyen Thi Nhung was moved to tears when she had to say goodbye to the entire team. Work and daily conversations gradually dissolve distance and create bonds between the two parties.
On May 20th, the day after the semi-finals, many volunteers said goodbye to the Indonesian U23 players, Thailand U23 players, referees and supervision team in tears. In response to this sentiment, the Thai U23 players presented the team’s Volunteer Team jersey as a thank you.
Another image was equally impressive, of a female volunteer running like a fly at My Dinh Stadium, transferring the East Timorese flag from the stands to Felisberto De Deus, silver medalist in the men’s 10,000m. The moment Felisberto donned the flag of East Timor and waved the flag of Vietnam, became an impressive image at the 31st Congress.
