Xavi shares about Gavi

Barcelona know how important Gavi and Ronald Araujo will be to the team in the years to come, and they have tried to extend them in the context that both will expire in June 2023. However, the Catalan side’s efforts so far have been unsuccessful as both Gavi and Araujo have turned down the latest offer.

Barca have tried to improve the terms for Gavi and Araujo compared to the previous negotiation, but both people consider this still not enough. It is known that Barcelona’s initial offers for both players were very low, before being revised over time. The same goes for Sergi Roberto, Ousmane Dembele and these contract negotiations have broken down.

Currently, Araujo is being closely watched by Man Utd and Chelsea. Not long ago, it was reported that the Red Devils were willing to pay a salary of £ 8 million/year for the Uruguayan midfielder. 

Meanwhile, Gavi is a jewel in Barca’s midfield. At the age of 17, he still has too much potential to develop. In La Liga this season, he has pocketed 2 goals and 4 assists in 1590 minutes of playing. A few months ago, it was reported that Chelsea accepted to spend more than 40 million pounds to tear off Gavi’s contract.
